Yacht Racing

Today, was the first day I had been on a sailboat in several years. Today I went down to the Royal Irish Yacht Club and boarded a 42 footer and geared up for a race. It was nice to get back to sailing after a long break, but with my excitement came sea sickness. I was fairly nauseous for the majority of the race but I was glad to get through it all.

Tomorrow I will be trying out for the local under 18 soccer (football) team. Wish me luck!

Dublin, Ireland

I’ve finally landed in Dublin, after a grueling 5 hour lay-over at JFK airport in New York. I’m starting to realize that I won’t be going to back home and that I won’t be going back to high school in september. This is a changing time in my life and I need to do well! I have been given all of the advice and good wishes you could ask for. Now its time for me to buckle down and get in gear. Its time to step out into the real world! I am excited and nervous at the same time, but the good thing is that right now I am more excited than I am nervous. Thats all for now, I will be sure to update as much as I can. Cheers!

Top Gear

MacBook

After waiting for almost a year, the day I have been waiting for this whole time has finally come. This morning I woke up to the noise of knocking at my door. I ran downstairs in anticipation for what waited on the other side of the door. And man was I excited when I saw what was there. My new MacBook that I had purchased online several days earlier. I was given this MacBook as a gift for graduating from high school and for my future life in Ireland. I have to say after using it for a couple of hours setting things up and importing all of my files from my old PC to my new Mac, I really love this thing!

I had originally wanted to buy the MacBook Pro and waited to get one because I had herd that they were coming out with a new one and so they did. After a month or so I was stuck with the decision of the base model MacBook Pro or the high-end model of the MacBook. Obviously you know which one I chose but I’ll tell you why a little later. As for now I am going to spend the rest of my evening playing around and getting familiar with my new MacBook!

Class of 2008

After enduring 13 years of school four of which have been at Langley High School. I am proud and exstatic to say that I have officially graduated from high school! I have been waiting for this day for a long time and getting to this point was not easy at all. I’ve spent 4 years of my educational career at one of the hardest high schools in the nation. Newsweek has ranked Langley High School in the Top 50 for the four years I have attended. It feels great to graduate from such a promonent school that has such a rich diversity of people and cultures. Even though I didn’t enjoy some of my four years, I must say that I appreciate everything that Langley has given me and how well they have prepared me for college.

Attending graduation at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. was also another great honor. Walking into Constitution Hall in my cap and gound made the hair on the back of my neck stand up and gave me goose bumps all over. When it was time for me to walk acorss the stage and get my diploma, I was suprisingly not as nervous as I expected to be. The feeling after getting my diploma and when our principal annouced us as graduates was amazing. I threw my cap and with it went all my past problems I had throughout my time in high school. Last but not least at the All Nigh Grad Party held at Langley that night, I must say it was one of the best times I have had at Langley. Not to mention the $250 I won along with a gift certificate for $25…. you gotta love Langley.

Euro 2008

The day has arrived, the biggest European international tournament has begun. After the last Euro Cup in 2004, will another underdog like Greece be able to pull out a win or will it be one of the prominent countries like Germany that most experts believe will win? Only the team that has the most desire, passion, and teamwork will make it.

iTouch

For all of you college students that are looking to buy a Mac, Apple is having a Back to School promotion. With the purchase of a qualifying Mac, you will recieve a free 8GB iPod Touch (or 8GB nano). Luckily for me, I have been planning to get a MacBook Pro for the last year and had planned on getting it sometime in June. The promotion will go from June 3rd to September 15th. Looks like I will also get the Touch I have been keen for.

WIRED Mag

Recent WIRED Magazine article, "Anatomy of a Racer" , talks about how being a professional racing driver isn’t as easy as everyone thinks. In the article it talks about all the stresses that are put on the body of a racer and the mental and physical condition they need to have, in order to do their job… which I wouldn’t mind having myself. Sorry Tony Stewart, but in real automotive racing like Formula 1, you have to be able to do more than repeated left-hand turns.

Top Gear

If you haven’t heard, the greatest automotive show on the planet will be back June 15th! Yep, Top Gear will be back on the air in less than 45 days. When I went about my daily check of one of my favorite forums FinalGear.com , I noticed that the space at the top of the site where the countdowns normally are was counting down. All I have to say is that a combination of Top Gear starting soon and Gran Truismo 5 Prologue out… I will be a busy man.
